Measuring progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals
Recognizing the immense importance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we’ve committed ourselves to the global mission of sustainable and equitable development set to be realized by 2030. These ambitious goals bring nations together, illustrating a universal commitment to crafting a better and more sustainable future for all.
Consistent with our mission to promote sustainability competencies, we are excited to share curated content largely sourced from the SDG Tracker. This comprehensive tool monitors global advancements towards the SDGs, using official statistics from the UN and other highly-respected international organizations. It provides open-access insights into the world’s progression towards these goals and promotes accountability for governments worldwide.
The SDGs encompass 17 intertwined goals, 169 specific targets, and are tracked by 232 unique indicators. A complete list of these definitions is readily available for better understanding and clarity.
Originally launched on June 28, 2018, the SDG Tracker continuously updates with the most recent data and developments on SDG progress, tracking the trajectory of these goals until the end of the 2030 Agenda. However, it’s worth noting that while data for many indicators is accessible, significant gaps remain. We are always eager to incorporate high-quality data to fill these gaps and offer the most exhaustive, current resources for tracking worldwide progress.
We believe that offering this data can foster greater awareness and comprehension of the SDGs. In doing so, it enables our users to align their sustainability initiatives more effectively with these global targets. As a result, we’re not just providing an education, we’re empowering a global community to make proactive contributions to a sustainable future.
